Setting
up Microsoft Outlook Express 4, 5, 6
Below
we use example information to setup a mail account. When we
use "jsmith" this represents your user name.
So for example, the following email address would be jsmith@litenet.net
you would substitute "jsmith" with your own username.
1.
From the "Tools" menu, select "Accounts".
2.
Choose "Add", then "Mail".

Enter your name, as shown below:

Display
Name: John Smith

Enter your email address, as shown below:

E-mail
address: jsmith@litenet.net

Select "POP3 server", then enter your POP and SMTP
server names:

Incoming
mail (POP3 or IMAP) server:
mail.litenet.net
Outgoing mail (SMTP) server:
mail.litenet.net

Enter your POP username and password, as shown below:

Your
user name is the first segment of the email address you are
setting up, (jsmith@litenet.net as below) your user name would
be jsmith.
Account
name: jsmith
Password: 123456

If prompted, select your connection method. In most cases,
you'll want to select "I will establish my Internet connection
manually." For those who want Outlook to dial up automatically,
select "Connect using my phone line."

Connecting
through you phone line requires a modem. Connecting using
my local area network (LAN), (or Local Area Network) requires
a network connection, DSL, or cable modem.
8.
Press "Finish". You are now ready to send and receive
email.
