Setting
up Netscape 6
Below
we use example information to setup a mail account. When we
use "jsmith" this represents your user name.
So for example, the following email address would be jsmith@litenet.net
you would substitute "jsmith" with your own username.
1.
From the "Edit" menu, select "Mail & News
Account Settings".
2.
Select "New Account".
3.
Select "ISP or email provider":
4.
Enter your name and email address, as shown below:
Your
Name: John Smith (for example)
Email Address: jsmith@litenet.net

Select POP Mail Server, then enter your server names, as shown
below:
Incoming
Server Name: mail.litenet.net
Outgoing Server Name: mail.litenet.net

Enter your POP mailbox username as shown below:
Your
user name is the first segment of the email address you are
setting up, (jsmith@litenet.net as below) your user name would
be jsmith.
User
Name: jsmith
7.
Select the name Netscape should use when referring to your
account:
Account
Name: My Personal
Account (for example)

Select "Finish".
9.
Go back to "Mail & News Account Settings".
10.
Choose the "Outgoing (SMTP ) Server" submenu.
11.
Make sure that "use name and password" is selected.
12.
Enter your POP mailbox username as shown below:
Your
user name is the first segment of the email address you are
setting up, (jsmith@litenet.net as below) your user name would
be jsmith.
Server
Name: mail.litenet.net
User Name: jsmith
13.
Press "OK". You are now ready to send and receive
email.
