Setting
up Netscape 4.x
Below
we use example information to setup a mail account. When we
use "jsmith" this represents your user name.
So for example, the following email address would be jsmith@litenet.net
you would substitute "jsmith" with your own username.
1.
From the "Edit" menu, select "Preferences".
2.
Select "Identity" from the "Mail & Newsgroups"
submenu.
3.
Enter your name and email address, as shown below:
Your
Name: John Smith (for example)
Email Address: jsmith@litenet.net

Select "Mail Server" from the "Mail & Newsgroups"
submenu.
5.
Enter your outgoing mail server information, as shown below:
Outgoing
mail (SMTP) server: jsmith@mail.litenet.net
Outgoing mail server user name: jsmith
6.
Click "Add..."; then enter your server name and
username as shown below. Please select POP3 as your mail server
type:
Your
user name is the first segment of the email address you are
setting up, (jsmith@litenet.net as below) your user name would
be jsmith.
Server
Name: mail.litenet.net
User Name: jsmith
7.
Press "OK". You are now ready to send and receive
email.
